I am pleased to welcome you to the website of John Bowes Residential Ltd Chartered Surveyors and Property Management.

We are a Surveying Company formed in 2006/07 providing a professional service in mainly residential property issues in Portsmouth, Hampshire and West Sussex.

Please see the Services page for a more detailed description of the range of Services we provide. It is our intention to add to these Services further as the Company develops and in order to meet the needs of you our customers.

As a small local Company and in order to provide a full range of Services to you, we currently network with other local Chartered Surveyor practices in Portsmouth. If the Services page does not include the service that you are looking for, please contact us as we may well be able to provide this service through our consultants.

As a Chartered Surveyor, who for many years worked for a Local Authority, I have extensive experience in managing residential property from the point of view of identifying and scheduling repairs, managing renovation and improvements and Property Management of Leasehold Properties. I am an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, and a full member of the Institute of Residential Property Management.

In recent years I have been involved in the change to the new House Buying process acting as an assessor for trainee Home Inspectors and Domestic Energy Assessors. I am a qualified Energy Assessor and can provide Energy Performance Certificates required under the Home Information Packs regulations.

Beginning on Oct 1st 2008, all landlords are required to provide an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to perspective tenants when the tenancy changes or a new tenancy is started. There is no need to obtain a Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for an existing tenancy. Once obtained, a certificate remains valid for up to 10 years. 

I can provide training packages for Surveyors in many Residential Surveying issues in order to meet CPD/LLL requirements and to develop trainee Surveyors or other staff. I also provide a mentoring/coaching service for those preparing for membership or technical membership of the RICS.
